Selection criteria

Which product range fits your task?

For bonding and surface protection, explore adhesive tapes, films and self-adhesive foams. For workpiece finishing, turn to abrasives and abrasive tools; for liquid bonding, to industrial adhesives. The substrate, function and processing method guide the first choice.

03

SELECTION GUIDE

From material to the right format

Start with the job: do you need to join a component, protect a surface or finish a workpiece? For tapes and films, the substrate, carrier, adhesive and service conditions guide selection. For abrasives, consider the material, grit, backing and machine format. The product ranges lead to the relevant constructions and ranges.

If a standard format does not suit the process, we can assess slitting, die-cutting or another bespoke converting option. Tell us about the material, component, dimensions and method of application so we can review what is possible for your application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RANGE

Which product groups are in the Krückemeyer range?

The range covers industrial adhesive tapes, self-adhesive and technical films, foams, abrasives, abrasive tools and adhesives. The subpages show each product group and its different constructions. You can narrow down the task first, then examine suitable materials and formats. Alongside trade products, Krückemeyer processes materials that can be slit, die-cut or wound to make individual solutions. The right design depends on the substrate, application and method of processing.

When is bespoke converting useful?

Bespoke converting is useful when a standard trade format does not fit a component, machine or workflow. Adhesive tapes can be slit to the required roll size, die-cut to shape and fitted with fingerlifts or pull tabs. Backed abrasives can be adapted in length, width and shape for the relevant sanding machine. Dimensions, material and processing need to be assessed together; the options depend on the particular input material and application.

What matters when choosing adhesive tape or film?

Function and service conditions are decisive. Tapes differ in carriers such as film, fabric, foam or nonwoven, in adhesive formulation and in whether they need to be removable. Films can protect surfaces, provide insulation or form a technical layer in a composite. For advice, describe the materials to be joined or protected, their surface condition, the temperature and the later processing steps. Suitability is checked for the specific application.

What information helps when selecting abrasives?

Start with the material and the required surface finish. Grit, backing, machine type and the needed belt or tool size also matter. Krückemeyer processes backed abrasives for abrasive belts and adapts their dimensions and design to the sanding process. The selected abrasive needs to work on the existing machine and produce the required result. Describe the material, processing step and machine format when requesting advice. Find the product overview for abrasive tools in the specialist shop.
